Buckinghamshire Advantage is delighted with the decision earlier this month by Buckinghamshire Council to give the green light to the outline planning application for the Aylesbury Woodlands development.
Aylesbury Woodlands, part of the Buckinghamshire Enterprise Zone, is an extensive site to the east of Aylesbury, where a major new mixed use urban extension will be delivered. The development will include commercial premises, strategic road infrastructure, housing and sports and leisure facilities.

Lift off for revolutionary space rockets testbed
Construction is underway at Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership’s Enterprise Zone at Westcott Venture Park, to create a new facility for Reaction Engines to test its revolutionary Synergetic Air‐Breathing Rocket Engine (SABRE), which is designed to unlock the future of space travel and hypersonic flight.
Owner, Rockspring Property Investment Managers LLP (“Rockspring”), is developing six acres of the 650-acre site, which is between Bicester and Aylesbury for a new test facility and assembly building for Reaction Engines Limited. This is the first milestone in a two-year development pipeline which will enable tests of the core of the revolutionary air-breathing rocket engine to begin in 2020.

Right to Build Task Force announces first organisation to receive support
Buckinghamshire Advantage has been announced as the first organisation to receive support from the National Custom and Self Build Association’s (NaCSBA) newly implemented Right to Build Task Force. The expert Task Force was launched in February 2017 with the aim of helping Local Authorities, community groups and other organisations across the UK to deliver large, affordable custom and self build housing projects.
Buckinghamshire Advantage, the operational arm of Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership (BTVLEP), is promoting the Aylesbury Woodlands site on behalf of several public and private sector landowners. Buckinghamshire Advantage’s aim is to create a high quality, distinctive new neighbourhood – comprising some 1,100 new homes – as part of a wider mixed use development to the east of Aylesbury.
